Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 May 2026

These Terms govern your use of Letting Go Journal ("the App"), built by Known By One ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to these Terms.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on iPhones you own or control, in line with Apple's App Store Terms.

2. Purchases

The App requires a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase to access the full feature set. The purchase is made through Apple's App Store and tied to your Apple ID.

3. Acceptable use

The App is a private space for journaling and reflection during difficult emotional periods, including breakups and the end of relationships. You agree to use it only for personal, lawful purposes.

4. Not medical or mental health advice

Letting Go Journal is a self-help tool. It is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or any form of medical or mental health care. If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact a qualified professional or an emergency service in your country immediately (e.g., Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK, 988 in the US).

The breathing exercises, prompts, cards, and insights in the App are for general reflective purposes only and do not constitute clinical advice.

5. Your content

Anything you write or upload in the App stays on your device. We have no access to it. You retain all rights to your content. You are responsible for backing it up — if you delete the App, your content is permanently lost.

6. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Known By One is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the in-app purchase.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in the App on next update.

9. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or restrict access if you breach these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer protection law gives you a non-waivable right to bring action elsewhere.
