Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026

Letting Go Journal ("the App") is built by Known By One. This policy explains, in plain English, what data the App handles and what we do with it.

Short version

We don't collect any of your data. Everything you write — journal entries, reasons, letters, mood check-ins, streak progress, quiz results — stays on your iPhone. We have no servers. We can't see your entries. We don't have an account system. We don't use analytics, advertising, or trackers.

What stays on your device

The following information is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure storage (SwiftData and Keychain) and never leaves your device:

If you delete the App, this data is permanently deleted with it. We have no copy.

What leaves your device

Only two things ever leave your device, and only when you do something that requires them:

  1. In-App Purchases. When you tap the purchase or restore button, your device communicates with Apple's App Store to process the transaction. We never receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
  2. Tapping a link in the App (e.g., this Privacy Policy or the Terms). Your browser opens the URL — standard web behavior.

That is the complete list. The App makes no other network calls.

What we don't do

Notifications

If you enable streak reminders or mood check-in reminders, the App schedules local notifications using iOS's notification system. These notifications are generated on-device and never reach our servers (we don't have any).

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because we do not collect data.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and post the new version at this URL.
